Career counseling is offered to individuals seeking direction in accomplishing career goals and objectives. Counseling and assessments are available by appointment Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contact the Career Center at careercenter@dhrm.state.va.us. Individual counseling may include: career development, career transition, job search techniques, resume writing, and interview tips. Additionally, software is available to assist the job seeker with: online job search, resume posting, career exploration, and career assessment. Some of these assessments are computer-generated instruments that include inventories to determine interests, values, and experience. These tools promote career exploration and planning in addition to providing information on areas of academic study needed for skill building to enhance career options. Although most of the assessment tools utilized in the Center are at no cost, some of the computer-generated tools may require a fee.
